Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country rich with history, culture and natural beauty. Lying at the heart of the western Balkans, the area that now comprises Bosnia and Herzegovina has been a part of numerous empires from the Romans to the socialist Yugoslav federation. Through the centuries, the region has developed unique architecture, foods and cultures that reflect the mixing of peoples and ideas. It is a country where the past - both good and bad - remains an integral part of everyday life. The Fulbright Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina is looking to attract scholars and professionals who want to immerse themselves in a new culture, work with students and faculty on issues in their specialty, contribute to all aspects of higher education reform and, in particular, who want a challenge. The nature of the conflict in Bosnia and the intense violence of the war have left deep scars on the population of the country. The Fulbright Program is committed to working with local universities and other higher education institutions to help civil society develop and prosper.
